Victim or a survivor?!

She was touched in a way not a single girl out there deserves to be touched, at least not a 14 year old. A pretty young girl walking towards her friend's house in a rainy evening excited about her night stay leaves that house with nothing but pain. She's there singing and dancing with her best friend when her cousin brother joins them. Her best friend had to go grocery shopping so she introduces them and walks away thinking her friend was safe with her brother. But she gets nervous as she's there alone in a room with the strange man. She's there on her phone scrolling through Instagram. All of a sudden, she feels his hands on her chest , she tries to scream but he shushes her. Out of fear she cries for help but no one can hear her. He then pushes himself inside her. She's all numb, can't feel a thing. She fights, yells for help but it wasn't worth it. Nobody cares about you he said, "You're doing what you're made for" . She begs him to stop, thinking what sin she must have done to make this demon use her.  Nobody came to set her free. She feels his tight grip on her wrist and the pressure of his body on her when she screams louder than ever. He stops when he's satisfied. In a blink of eyes, her life changed forever.  She collects her clothes and runs away weeping to save herself. She comes home and cries herself to sleep.
Out of all crimes committed against a person, rape is the one that leaves the victim with the most scar. It's been 1 year since he raped her but she still feels his body on top of her everytime she closes her eyes. She fears men. She cannot trust any men from then. She hasn't been the same after that happened. But when she finally tries opening up to the world after all that traumatic experience she's faced.Why does the society not support her but protects the rapist? They say it was that poor thing's fault that she attracted him towards her. That she triggered that man to do such cruel act on her.
This is the world we live in. Not a single girl has not come across being body shamed, catcalled , harassed, raped or even been killed for no reason. From a newborn to a 90 year old woman, not a single female is safe in this world.What society do we live in?  A girl is blamed for something that isn't even done on her favor. She is forbidden to wear short dresses but he is not taught the right ways to look at girls.Why isn't he suffering for his deeds but she is ? Why is she a whore when he's the one who took advantage of her? Why is she the disgrace of her family when his family should be ashamed of him? Why are you telling her to shut up when she's trying her best to speak up? Why are women still treated like men's property? Why should women sacrifice their body to men?  You're accusing her of faking the story against the man for attention. Don't discourage her for speaking up about what had happened to her. She's not a VICTIM but a SURVIVOR.
Sexual assault and rape is never the victim's fault. It's not her fault for what happened. It shouldn't define her and ruin her future. Anyone who abuses, harasses, rapes people should be hanged and left to die. To use someone's else's body without consent is not okay. It's very cruel how a person can destroy another person but gets to live life to their fullest without paying for his deeds. 1623 rape cases were registered across Nepal in the first eight months of the year 2018/19. Many female bury their stories deep down because victims are often threatened, lured and given false promise of marriage after rape. With the fear of society not accepting the victim, many of them cannot speak up. Their untold stories eat them up and leave them helpless. When will I get to live in a world where each individual respect the other? I don't wanna live in such a world where victims are looked at the way the harasser or rapist should be looked at.
A world where there's no crime committed against the will of a girl and a man learns how to respect a woman is what we want. We want to live in a world where we can go out for a walk at 7 p.m. with no fear of what might happen to us. We want to live in a world where girls are not aborted but  raised with love. We want to live in a world where girls are encouraged to get education, to get a job, to run the world. We want to live in a world where girls are treated with love and respect.
